Restoring iPad to its factory settings is a decision made under many circumstances. First, if you have jailbroken your iPad and have run into problems, there is probably a need for you to restore your iPad to its default settings. Second, if you are thinking of giving away or selling your iPad to someone else, it is essential for you to fully erase your personal information from the device before it is handed to the new owner. Step 1: Launch Settings>tap on General>go to Reset and tap on Erase All Content and Settings.
Step 2: Then you will be asked if you want to continue the action, if the answer is yes, your iPad will reset then the Apple logo together with a loading bar will appear on the screen.
Notes: As you can see, there are two options: Reset All Settings and Erase All Content and Settings, for you to choose. What’s the difference between them? Erase All Content and Settings: if you tap on this option, you will lose all contents like apps, music, photos, and personal information on your iPad. All the previous Settings on your device will be erased too. Reset All Settings: This option is for those who want to reset iPad to factory settings without losing any data because it will only change the Settings on your device.
Step 1: Connect iPad to the computer with a USB cable. Then launch iTunes.
Step2: Locate your iPad under “Device” on the left panel and click on Restore.
Notes: You should wait for the firmware file to be downloaded if you restore iPad to factory settings for the first time. Once it is downloaded, you will be asked to confirm your action before it proceed the restoring process.
