Many people are attracted by iPhone’s excellent performance and become big fans of Apple. Well, the first and most important thing for iPhone users is to make full use of their devices. Here are the basic tips and tricks for new iPhone users.


1.To create a folder

You might have downloaded and installed hundreds of applications on your iPhone even though you’ve use it for a couple months. Then it is of great importance to organize your apps into folders. Here is what you can do, tap and hold on the icons till they wiggle and then drag the icon to wherever you like on the screen. When you drag one icon over another icon, a folder will be automatically created. You can rename the folder by yourself.

2.Double-press Home Button for Multi-tasking

Although iPhone does not support multi-tasking with one screen, Apple design shortcuts for users to switch applications simply. For example, when you double-press the “Home Button”, you can see list of apps running in the background and recent contacts from the menu.

3.Exit and deleted application on iPhone

Most of the apps are work well on our iPhone, which does not mean that we don’t need to delete it when we are in need of saving storage space. For example, when you need to exit one application completely, you need to double-press “Home Button” and then you will see a screen comes out, select the one you want to exit and then slide it to the top of the screen. If you want to delete an app, you can long-press the icon and then click on “X” to delete the app.

4.Search via Spotlight

If you want to find some specific data in iPhone in a fast way, you can use Spotlight which can search data including apps, web pages, text messages, e-mail and movies on show. You can turn on this feature by sliding you fingers to the bottom of the screen.

5.Control center

You can find many so called “flashlight applications” on App Store, but you don’t have to bother yourself with such an application for Apple has already loaded a flashlight app in the Control Center of iOS 8. And users can quickly access to computer, Airdrop and screen lock by scrolling up the screen.

6.New added wedgits

Then Notification Center of iOS 8 is more than a place for notifications, because users can install many useful wedgits including list of TV shows or package delivery etc. And you can go to “Today View”, click on the “Edit” button to add the wedgits you need.

7.One-hand mode

If you were a user of Samsung Galaxy S5 or Moto X, it would be much easier for you to user iPhone 6 Plus. But do not take it for granted that you can easily apply your iPhone with only one hand. Luckily, Apple has designed a “One-hand mode” for specific users. Double tap “Home” button to turn on this feature. When it is on, the main menu will scroll down to a lower place so that you can reach the objects easily.

8.Activate Siri

Long press “Home” button, then you will turn on Siri immediately. You can ask it all kinds of questions and it will try its best to give you the answer. Of course, if your iPhone is charging, you can turn on this feature by saying “Hey Siri” to your iPhone without even picking it up.

9.Take screen shots

You can easily take screen shots with your iPhone by holding the “Home” button and “Power” button at the same time.

10.Turn off or restart iPhone

Sometimes we can solve some iPhone issues by shutting down the iPhone. There are two ways to do it: First, long press the “Power” button until you see “Slide to power off” appears. Second, long press the “Home” and “Power” button until you see the Apple logo. Then your iPhone will be forced to restart.
